kawaii manga : Honey & Clover by Chica Umino

I introduce Japanese girls favorite manga. They are not only NANA and NARUTO. The Manga i like best is Honey & Clover. The author Chica Umino was ex-Sanrio designer. (Sanrio is known as Hello-kitty’s company)

Honey & Clover’s story is art college student’s life story. Boys and girls’ love and growing process are described.

This story is very interesting. Besides, every characters are so much “kawaii”. I like them all.

This is a T-shirt “Tonkichi,Chinpei,Kanta” from COMME des GARCONS HOMME PLUS.

Tony Tony Chopper : One Piece

Tony Tony Chopper is a doctor, and one of the members of the Straw Hat Pirates form One Piece. One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda.

It focuses on a ragtag crew of heroic pirates, formed and led by Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy’s greatest ambition is to obtain the world’s ultimate treasure, One Piece, and become Pirate King. I love Chopper! I got his lovely hat by the crane game.

Nekomura-san : Japanese manga feat. cat housekeeper

We know that Japanese Manga is popular world-wide, but have you ever heard about a Japanese cartoon “Kyo no Nekomura-san (Today’s Mrs. Nekomura)”?

It is an outrageous setting that a cat is dispatched as a housekeeper. But she does the housework very well, sometimes kindly gives a good massage to her colleague or even amends a delinquent daughter of the house’s owner she works for. She has so much more common-sense than human do, and that makes her character so funny and popular.

The delinquent daughter : Get out of here !
Mrs. Nekomura (Housekeeper cat) : Don’t say that! If you won’t have the tonihgt dinner, I can’t leave hrer.

The cute drawing is of course a key reason of its popularity, but the story seems to reflect the modern Japanese society, which has been said deteriorated.
