I got this Bento Box at Hiroshima station. This is a Sushi Bento including Chirashi Sushi (scattered sushi) which is middle part of it.

Top the rice with the slices of renkons,eggs,a boiled shrimp,a matsutake-mushroom and salmon roe… I love Chirashi Sushi sooo much. It’s very healthy!

Crumbled and seasoned meat/egg are generally called “soboro”(そぼろ) in Japanese. Soboro are often used as toppings on steamed rice.

Different colored soboro are presented on top of the rice in a lunch box. Very tasty.

I went to Nagano on the Shinkansen last weekend. I had Ekiben(Daruma bento &
Kamameshi bento) both ways(going and coming) on the Shinkansen.
They were made with tasty riches from the mountains like bamboo shoot,
shiitake mushrooms, etc. It’s always fun to eat Ekiben on the trains.

Daruma bento comes in a Daruma dolls. Daruma dolls are hollow and round Japanese wish dolls with no arms or legs,modelled after Bodhidharma.

Ekiben (Railway boxed meal) are a specific type of bento boxed meals, sold on
trains and train stations in Japan.
