sandwich at fruit shop

Sandwich at fruit

There are some famous “fruit shops” in Tokyo. They specialize in fruits that are delicious and as beautiful as jewels (and expensive)!

However the Japanese have a traditional long-lasting custom that we give gifts to each other at every occasion. This is the shop we often go to buy something for those occasions.

Most of these old established fruit shops have fruit parlours upstairs where you may find many colourful and delicious menus using those fruits the shops are proud of.

I bet many people can’t resist this temptation very often. One of the most irresistible is a fruit sandwich which shows the sides of all fruits sliced thinly stacked up inside sparkling like a jewellery box. They also told me that they make this sandwich with sliced fruits and sour cream inside with lemon buttered breads. Please try one of these if you are tempted!

Isetan,Shinjuku “VOGUE meets ISETAN!”

Isetan Shinjuku

Isetan,Shinjuku store is the most hip department store in Japan. Not only world’s top class brands but cutting edge Indie brands, which have a promising future, stand side by side in the store and highlight the fact that buyers of Isetan,Shinjuku Store are one of the elite groups in a fashion industry of Japan.

Anyway 8tokyo staff can’t ignore this department store, so we often go there but we don’t buy much because they are so expensive.

VOGUE meets ISETANThere is a special window display project in the store put together in collaboration with “VOGUE NIPPON(Japan)”.

So we checked it out. The theme of this project was “ISETAN x VOGUEAIRLINES” where by a fictitious airline took us on a trip of the latest fashions including 100 brands from all over the world. Read the rest of this entry »

Kawaii lingerie shop “une nana cool”

unnana itami

Une nana cool is a retail shop of an underwear company Wacoal but this
shop only sells lingerie with cute designs. The shops are located in the narrow street called Spain-zaka in Shibuya and in a fashion building MYLOAD (we will talk about this name
next time!) and elsewhere nationwide.

une nana cool
There are lots of bras and panties with cute designs. The print pattern of dogs, floret, dot, and stripe are the standard items.

une nana bra
If you purchase an unpatterned colourful cotton item and also an appliqu for it, a sales assistant can stick it on with a special big iron on the spot at your request. I think for bras there is a range of sizes up to about 36DD for American, and 90E for French, and about 3 for Italian. For panties L size means a big M size.

If you mouse over the Japanese at the top part of site, a colourful bird will appear to click.
Even looking at the pictures is enjoyable enough!

handmade 8bit graphic “.s”

Handmade 8bit graphic

A toy called 「.s」 is like a combination of blocks and a puzzle where
you create a picture of dots by putting coloured “dot pin” into a
panel with lots of holes.

There is a kit you can use to create your favourite game character!
You can simulate this on a web to see how to do it and if you click on
a character, it will display a pattern of the picture so that you can
use it for cross-stitching as well.
