YEBISU GARDEN PLACE Winter Illuminations

The other day, I went to YEBISU GARDEN PLACE with a friend.

All the trees were lit up, creating truly magical scenery.

A huge Baccarat chandelier was displayed in the center of the square.

The chandelier was amazing, giving the impression that it was floating in the air.

Jill Stuart cafe limited Christmas sale of sweet treats and goods

Jill Stuart cafe of Futakotamagawa and Shinsaibashi is offering original Christmas cakes and a limited-time menu for sale.
Also included in the sale are goods such as original mugs, tumblers, and tote bags by illustrator Naho Ogawa, who designed 8tokyo’s logo. Lasts until 12/25.

The Suica Penguin Room has arrived at Hotel metropolitan. Limited to
one room, one night’s stay only.

On December 1, the “suica penguin room” will be making an appearance at Hotel metropolitan to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the JR West character the suica penguin.

The room is decorated with specially made original bedsheets, specially made cushions, wall paintings and objet d’art of the character, and it comes with plush dolls, toothbrush sets, cardholders, notebooks, ballpoint pens and more. We offer a room service suica penguin pancake breakfast.

We began taking reservations for the 152 rooms available from December 1 through April 30, but sold out in only five days. At this time, we are taking reservations for May through June. In the future we will be taking reservations for July through the end of the campaign on October 30, but the start date has not yet been decided.

cookie boy exhibition BLACK CHRISTMAS

ROCKET, the gallery in Harajuku that ties together food and art, is now hosting an exhibition by sugar icing cookie artist “cookie boy”.
On December 26, New Year’s cookies are to be offered for sale.
The exhibition period continues until December 27.

Rokka no Mori

I got some cute Rokka no Mori chocolates that my friend from Hokkaido sent me.
Rokkatei is a really famous snack maker from Hokkaido.

Inside the cute dice shaped box there were three kinds of chocolates that are modeled after the blooming grasses in the mountains and hillsides of Hokkaido.
The strawberry, white chocolate, and passion fruit flavored chocolates were not only cute but also really tasty too!

Yawataya Isogoro 2

There’s so many original pepper foods and goods in Yawataya Isogoro.

After I got my personal blend of shichimi pepper, I found miniature of their pepper’s can motif mobile phone charm.
It is so cute, and the can works… you can bring shichimi pepper everywhere within that!

Yawataya Isogoro is famous for shichimi pepper, blend of Japanese traditional herb with pepper.

We can get their special recipe, and now we can get one as you like – “personal blend” shichimi pepper at their head store!

I ordered basic base, adding yuzu and sansho. It was good scent of citrus with Japanese pepper.

kotenkoten ten

I went to Nagano to see “kotenkoten ten” (last ten means exibition in kanji), exibition of Nakagawa Takeji of take-g.
He makes amazing wooden mosaic and inlaid dolls.

The dolls are funny and cute. Almost of their name comes from Edo era worker, gods, or animals.
Woods rise above eras, these dolls will be same when we treat them good.

Kurumikko

My friend will move to Kamakura soon.
She gave me Kurumikko, famous sweets in Kamakura.
Full of walnuts are dressed with chewy soft caramel between good cookies.
You can see cute walnut lovers printed on package!
