Tiger & Bunny plastic model workshop at Mokei Factory

mokei factory_4

I had a chance of building my first scaled plastic model!
The model is “Wild Tiger”, from my favorite anime “Tiger & Bunny”.

I joined workshop for beginners at Mokei Factory.

The shop is unique, the place is in “Marui Annex (called fashion-building in Japan)”. Next to shirts, you can get plastic models, tools, books of hints for modeling, or cute zakka. Don’t forget the time if you find running tiny model trains and awesome dioramas into the  shop.
Of course you can build plastic models with professional modelers in attached glassed-in studio.

I thought I couldn’t do anything without the workshop. Actually I didn’t know how to separate plastic parts.
Also it was a good time speaking with other anime fans & modelers.

And Meister Sekita’s “buddy heroes” are stunning! I can’t believe the models are from same as mine.

Also, famous for Japanese wooden marquetry wares – called “yosegi zaiku”.

It is slightly too big to bring, but very beautiful!

Yasuko Mitsuura is a famous comedienne in Japan, and she’s talented for handicraft too!
Sometimes we could see cute brooch on her blouse when we saw her on TV.
Finally these work gathered for her first handmade brooch book, and the exhibition was held.

mitsuura_brooches_2

The book named “Danshi ga moratte komaru brooch syu” means like “men always embarrassed when I gave my brooches”.
Some comedian guys appears on her book and they acts like her gifts are terrible.
