grilled Unagi eel day – the midsummer day of the Ox
26th July was the grilled Unagi (eel) day in Japan. Me and my mom went to Unagi speciality shop, and enjoy sharing soft, good, and fortifying fish against muggy summer days!
And we had sea bream chazuke. It’s also good for summer day. easy & tasty historical fast food… rice with sea bream sashimi that poured Japanese tea or dashi.

Unagi eel is lightly-seasoned but little oily. Dip eel into soy sauce, mirin, and sugar mixed sauce then grill it over charcoal. It is good & power food! But we always can’t eat it up, so we shared it with chazuke. Please try it when you get a chance! ;D

I found a place near my house where I could get unagi with brown rice. I’m not the biggest fan of unagi, because it is usually cooked so sweet (with mirin and sugar, like ☆i said), but I decided I should try it in the summer for ‘stamina’ ;)
